21st Cares: Family Promise of Knoxville

Our team volunteered at the Family Promise of Knoxville. We organized the playrooms and disinfected toys. The Family Promise of Knoxville is an organization that aids homeless families in obtaining affordable housing, places of employment, and independence. The average length of time in the program is 90 days. The site we visited is "home base", where the families within the program can store their belongings, wash their clothes, and have a place that feels like home. Seventeen churches in Knoxville, and the surrounding area, work with Family Promise of Knoxville to host the families one week at a time while also providing hot meals each night. The staff was so appreciative, and the children enjoyed being helpers.
